bomb shelter

lyrics

there's a bomb shelter within
the ruins that brings you straight
to hell, the corridors lit by glow
in the dark blood from the future
of mangled bodies which once housed
dreams and inalienable hope, brightly
inhospitable, structures held
by bones of broken promises, bliss
eternal entwined with hubris of
capital by tongues dangling riches (of
sorts) from the aftermath of labour
building a city that will never remember
your name, erasing, these cowards throw
you out for your defiance against
keeping silent despite your sweat
and fears in this unfathomably bleak
construction of your future. there
are agents in g2000s with papers
and pictures, wayang galleries using
your names as propaganda, skinned
alive to tell a story of their civility
by thanking you for your deaths
to this city, glorifying
unbridled kindness they've bestowed
elevating themselves by acing
PR yet failing to acknowledge your
humanity. for all that's uttered
and sputtered, like spit wasted
on their face, to their graves
they'll carry your fate, defending
every violent law that's value
for money, there is care for
the future made habitable only
for those who play along to
their fiction of equality in
a city intolerant of light
shining right in their faces
